I have heard the ancient ones speak of this odd phenomenon...
I myself have had dreams of this occurrence... a memory almost... as if from a previous life...
And many are the times I have prayed to the heavens, never dreaming I would actually live to witness it myself...
Water... falling from the sky. I believe they called it rain!

Hooray!!
ReplyDeleteHooray indeed!
DeleteWOOHOO! We've had quite a bit of rain too (along with lots of clouds and humidity, but no rain). It's a pretty glorious thing!
ReplyDeleteGlorious indeed, if crazy. Yesterday we hit 90, today we'll be lucky to hit 65!
DeleteHi Cat!
ReplyDeleteFinally, eh? I live in Seattle, now, where we get our share and yours every year. But many years ago, we lived in Utah for a while and I used to get so excited when it would rain, really! I'd open all the windows, because fresh rain on dry ground smells so nice! I still love that smell.
Glad for you that you finally got some rain!
That's exactly what I did until things started getting wet! It's just sooooo wonderful!

Ha! New word of the day!
DeleteCongrats, it's about time you got some. I thought in the last week we got all the rain for our area and the rest of the country. Here's hoping you get a real downpour that lasts.
ReplyDeleteWell... it's over, but we got nearly an inch, which is a new record for this date. Hooray!
DeleteI can remember when an inch was nothing. Until this past week, we would have given anything for an inch. I've never seen such a dry spring/summer.
ReplyDeleteWell... I think this brings our grand total for the YEAR to around 6 inches of moisture. Still less than half of "normal" which is pretty darned arid to begin with. Sigh.
