I 'm glad I 'm not the only one. I was just sitting in the living room, scrolling through instagram, when I heard something similar to fireplace noise, then I remember I was boiling my cup, I ran in the kitchen and the pot was on fire!! Oh the panic! I was just telling to myself in shock "what have I done, what have I done" and rushed the flaming pot in the sink, It was a disaster! Adios cup, adios 30€. Maybe the cup just wasn't meant for me, I couldn't even get it to open and seal so I was disappointed and wanted to disinfect it and store it to try again on my next period. If I hadn't burned it today, I would have absolutely had at some point, setting pots on fire is my family's thing, my mom burns greek coffees and food and I burn menstrual cups and teas. It's a family tradition!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14342759244687317497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685979597473858413.post-78031158553255257422017-05-14T03:31:51.793-06:002017-05-14T03:31:51.793-06:00Oh dear... Except I was boiling it while getting ready to go out for brunch. That would have been a disaster. On top of that, I was using a crappy pan and the bottom of the pan actually melted, leaving a stream of liquid metal on my ceramic stove top... which then cracked. I had a gaping hole in my stove! I think the main ingredient in OxyClean is hydrogen peroxide, but I don't know enough about silicone polymers to know if it would be safe to use again. You wouldn't want any toxic chemicals leeching out of it or something. I'd say you could ask the manufacturer but I'm pretty sure they'd tell you to replace it. Luckily, yesterday, I managed to catch it before it melted or even disfigured, but it's got a nasty smell and an unsightly brown twinge. I used a diaphragm for years, for birth control, same concept..rubber thingy you put up there..and was never advised to BOIL it..just wash, dry, keep in a case.
